Trade and Investment Framework Agreement: Desiring to develop further the United States and
Jordan’s international trade and economic interrelationship, the two countries
signed the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) on March 15, 1999.
The TIFA established the United States-Jordan Council on Trade and Investment.
The council’s major objectives include looking at specific trade and investment
matters of interest to both Parties and improving the flow of trade and
investment.
